With the recently activated Federal iZEV incentive, there are up to three vehicle eligibility lists to keep track of, depending on your situation. If you have heard of someone getting $16,000 worth of incentives, their vehicle would have appeared in each list below.

• Federal iZEV . —  See the vehicle list here . A point of purchase incentive up to $5,000.
• Provincial CEVforBC . —  See the vehicle list here . A point of purchase incentive up to $3,000.
• BC Scrap-It . —   See the vehicle list here . A rebate for scrapping a combustion vehicle after you buy an electric vehicle. $6,000 for new EVs and $3000 for used ones.

The iZEV and CEVforBC incentives are deducted from the purchase price of an eligible vehicle, similar to a down payment. They don’t reduce the vehicle price, so tax still applies to the full amount. The Scrap-It rebate comes in limited quantities each year, so remember that it’s not guaranteed to be available, and the scrap vehicle must qualify as well .
